On the 7th of September 2011, at approximately 10:00 AM, the Hermiston Police Department will be escorting the 137 member 3rd Batallion, 116th Cavalry Regiment, Delta Company through Hermiston en route to National Guard Armory at 900 SE Columbia Drive.  The soldiers are returning from a year long deployment to Iraq.

Hermiston Fire and Emergency Services will provide a ladder truck with the United States flag proudly displayed at the entrance of the armory.

Tentative time for the escort to take place through town is 10 AM.  For citizens who would like to pay respect to Delta Company, the City of Hermiston has provided the Hermiston Chamber of Commerce with handheld size flags to be handed out for free.  Citizens can either stand along the route through town (Hwy 395 from the north of town to the south) or at the armory.
