Hermiston Police News - Early release leds to second arrest

Release Date:
10/11/2011

On the 7th of October 2011, at approximately 7PM, the Hermiston Police Department arrested Kristina L. Moore 23 years of age, of 1216 NE 4th Street, Hermiston on (2) Failure to Appear warrants (totaling $70,000) out of Umatilla County.  Moore was processed at the Hermiston Police Department and later lodged at the jail in Pendleton. Moore was later released from custody.

On the 9th of October 2011, at approximately 12:30 PM, officers of the Hermiston Police Department responded to a business alarm at Elm Street Antiques located at 120 E Elm Avenue.  Responding officers discovered a person had used a rock to gain entry to the building via a window.  Once inside the building, the alarm was activated.

On the 11th of October 2011, at approximately 10:28 AM, Moore was located and taken into custody for her alleged involvement in/with the burglary of Elm Street Antiques.  Prior to being taken into custody Moore tossed items into the trunk of her vehicle and secured it.  Moore was questioned at the Hermiston Police Department and later lodged at the Umatilla County Jail in Pendleton while other officers wrote a search warrant for the vehicle.  Moore was charged with one count of Burglary in the Second Degree.

Drug paraphernalia items were located in the trunk upon service of the warrant.  Moore will eventually be charged with these items as well.

"It is unfortunate our businesses are continually victimized by people that should have remained in jail.  The efforts of this particular business to fortify the building with video surveillance and an audible alarm, led to the identification of Moore," reports Acting Chief of Police Jason Edmiston.
