Hermiston Police News - Juvenile taked into custody for burglary

On the 30th of September 2011, at approximately 6PM, a 14 year old Hermiston male was taken into custody for his alleged involvement with a burglary that took place at a residence in Country Squire Estates (1500 NE 10th Street, Hermiston).

The male was ultimately charged with Burglary in the First Degree, Theft in the First Degree, (13) counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (based on firearms stolen), and Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree.

All stolen property to include $260 in cash was returned to the owner.  The male was later lodged at the juvenile detention facility in Pendleton.

Acting Chief of Police Jason Edmiston reports, "Consistent with trends experienced across the region, we are seeing an increase in burglaries and would encourage citizens to mark their property accordingly.  Additionally, the Hermiston Police Department has free gun locks for anyone wishing to secure firearms."
