Hermiston Police News Release - repeat offender arrested and charged.
On the 28th of April 2011, at approximately 4:30 AM, Dylan Lieght Russell 18 years of age of 1308 SW Sage Drive, Hermiston, was taken into custody for suspicion of having just broken into several vehicles in the area of 680 W Harper Road.
Officers had been investigating a call from around 3:30 AM of several vehicles having been unlawfully entered at this location. Russell was contacted in the area of North Highway 395 and Harper Road (on foot) and questioned about his involvement. Russell was found to be in possession of property that came from some of the vehicles in question.
Russell was processed at the Hermiston Police Department and ultimately charged with Theft in the Second Degree, Unlawful Entry to a Motor Vehicle (4 counts), Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, and Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree. Russell was later lodged at the Umatilla County Jail in Pendleton.
"From March 14th through this morning, our agency has arrested and lodged (at the Umatilla County Jail) Mr. Russell 4 times involving 5 separate case investigations, all for illegally entering vehicles not belonging to him. During this period, Mr. Russell has been charged with 11 counts of Unlawful Entry to a Motor Vehicle, 5 counts of Theft in the Second Degree, 3 counts of Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree, 2 counts of Attempted Unlawful Entry to a Motor Vehicle, 2 counts of Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, and 1 count of Theft in the First Degree", reports Lieutenant Jason Edmiston.
