Mayor Severson called the regular meeting to order at 7:00 pm and declared a quorum present.  Present were Councilors Hardin, Misner, Davis, Harn, Springer, Myers, Calame and Harkenrider.  Staff members in attendance were City Manager Brookshier, City Attorney Luisi, Ray Jones, Clint Spencer, Dan Coulombe, Judge Creasing, Ron Sivey, Rose Emerson and Donna Moeller.  News media present was Luke Hegdal of the Hermiston Herald.  The pledge  of allegiance as given.

Minutes

Councilor Hardin moved and Councilor Myers seconded that minutes of the December 27 regular meeting be approved for filing.  Motion carried unanimously.

Oath of Office

Assistant City Recorder Moeller administered the oath of office to Municipal Court Judge Tom Creasing.

December Expenditures

Councilor Harkenrider moved and Councilor Hardin seconded to approve payment of the following December expenditures:  $466,523.47 General; $61,535.66 State Tax Street; $228,398.10 Utilities; $49,384.34 911 Communications; $564,564.57 Energy Services; $44,202.53 Regional Water; $19,768.05 WWTP Construction Fund; total $1,434,376.72.  Motion carried unanimously.

Council Comments

Councilor Davis commented on how nice she thought the City’s Christmas lights looked around town this year.

City Manager Comments

City Manager Brookshier thanked the council and staff for their attendance at the Saturday work session.
