Vacancies of City Committees

Announcement of standing committee vacancies for the unexpired portion of a:

*3-year term beginning March 2017 and ending December 31st, 2019

  • Budget Committee- positions #1, #2, and #3.
  • Recreation Projects Fund Advisory Committee- position #2.

Deadline for submitting applications is February 28th, 2017.

Interested persons are asked to submit an application to City Hall, 180 NE 2nd Street, Hermiston, or at lalarcon-strong@hermiston.or.us.  Application forms are available at City Hall or click HERE.

All appointments to City board’s, committee’s, and commission’s shall be made in accordance with the ordinances and City Charter.  Appointees shall not be full-time employees of the City, shall not be appointed to more than two board’s, committee’s, or commission’s at a time, and shall not sell to the City or to its board’s, committee’s, and commission’s over which the Council has appointive powers and budget control either directly as a prime contractor or supplier, or indirectly as a first tier subcontractor or supplier.  Sales shall be construed to mean sales, services or fees aggregating $7,500 or more in any one calendar year.  Preference for appointees shall be given to City residents.

Proposed appointment and confirmation of these positions will be made in March 2017.  The City Council confirms all committee appointments.
