The City of Hermiston requests residents and organizations in the area to lower their flags to half-staff from sun-up to sun-down on Friday, December 14, 2012 to honor the life of Mayor Bob Severson.  The request coincides with an order from Governor John Kitzhaber that flags at all public institutions within Hermiston fly at half-staff in memory of Severson.

Severson served as Mayor of Hermiston from 2001 until his passing this week.  Before that, he served as a City Councilor since 1995, and operated Bob’s Red Apple in Hermiston for 47 years.

A memorial service for Severson will take place at 4 p.m. Friday, December 14 at the Hermiston Conference Center at 415 S. Highway 395 in Hermiston.
