Officers responded to Tienda la Comadre around 10:16 AM and discovered an unknown white male entered the store in what appears to be an attempted robbery.  The unknown male was wearing dark clothing to include a hoodie sweatshirt, gloves, and something covering his face.  It is believed the male is at least 6 feet tall, had a dark colored backpack, and had an unknown type of weapon resembling a handgun.  It is not known if the weapon was a real firearm yet we are considering the unknown male extremely dangerous.

The male who was only in the store for approximately 5 seconds, fled on foot to the south (of the store) after the owner fired one round from a handgun.  The round struck a wall inside the business missing the unknown male.

“Nothing was taken from inside the store but we are treating this as an active investigation for the attempted robbery.  Furthermore, we are asking anyone with information about the identity of the male or the unknown female driving the white car, to contact our department at 541-567-5519 asking for Administrative Lieutenant Travis Eynon,: says Chief Jason Edmiston.
