Hermiston Police News: Boardman Man Wanted by HPD (Update: Suspect in Custody)

On the 3rd of May 2013, with the assistance fo the Boardman Police Department, Tellez was taken into custody.  He was charged with Menacing, Criminal Trespass II, and Disorderly Conduct II before being lodged at the Umatilla County Jail.  [View Notice from HPD - PDF]


On the 1st of May 2013, at approximately 11:18 PM, Hermiston officers were dispatched to 230 E Beech Avenue on a report of a couple males outside the residence wearing bandanas over their faces and possibly being armed with a firearm.  Hermiston officers arrived on scene within a minute of the call and observed two Hispanic males fleeing on foot from the yard of the residence.

Officers captured Gilberto Garcia 19 years of age, of 705 Paul Smith Road #102, Boardman, Oregon after a short chase.  Garcia did not have any weapons on his person at the time of the arrest.  Garcia was processed at the Hermiston Police Department and charged with Menacing, Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree, and Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree. 

Garcia, who is on felony probation for aggravated assault involving a firearm, was lodged at the Umatilla County Jail in Pendleton.  Garcia’s probation officer was notified by HPD officers and a request has been made to the jail to try and ensure he remains in custody for the probation officer to place a detainer on him.
