Hermiston Police News: Incident Reports

With warmer weather upon us, activity levels are picking up for the Hermiston Police Department.  Yesterday, swing shift officers dealt with the following:

  • At approximately 5:15 PM, officers cited James Downing 36 years of age and Alicia Parsons 24 years of age, both of 965 W Eskimo Ave #B, Hermiston, for Disorderly Conduct in the Second degree after receiving reports of a verbal dispute at Funland Park near the spray park area.
  • At approximately 7:30 PM, officers and paramedics responded to an unconscious male laying in the grass at the Grace Baptist Church located at 555 SW 11th Street, Hermiston.  The 15 year old male was transported to the hospital by paramedics due to what they believed were high levels alcohol intake.  The male was later cited by Hermiston officers for Minor in Possession of Alcohol by Consumption and Minor in Possession of Tobacco.
  • At approximately 8:13 PM, officers responded to the Cottonwood Apartments located at 630 SE 6th Street, Hermiston, on a report of an unsupervised child.  Officers arrived and found a 4 year old female unattended.  Witnesses advised the child had been running around for nearly 3 hours with a soiled diaper.  Officers were able to contact Melissa L. Young 32 years of age of 630 SE 6th Street #11, in the apartment.  Young was highly intoxicated.  Young was processed at the Hermiston Police Department and lodged at the Umatilla County Jail for Child Neglect in the Second Degree.  Young was placed in the dedicated jail bed for the city of Hermiston.  Department of Human Services assisted with the incident.
  • At approximately 8:22 PM, while following up on different call for service, officers contacted a group of juveniles in the area of 1215 SW 11th Street space #113, Hermiston.  A subsequent investigation revealed the juveniles were using a storage shed outside the residence to drink beer and smoke marijuana.  Three juveniles ages 15, 15, and 14 were cited for Minor in Possession of Alcohol by Consumption.  Both 15 year olds were also cited for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
