Hermiston Police News: Letter to our community regarding current crime statistics

Release Date:

Citizens and Business Community,

Following is a letter written to each of you with the intent to try and explain some of the increases and decreases we experienced with crime in 2011.  Focusing solely on one year to the next and trying to establish a "trend" can be narrow minded in approach, so I have added a chart that shows our reportable crimes from 2005-2011.  That particular chart shows a "normal range" which to me is a good indicator of where trending takes place.

As I state in the letter if you have any questions, feel free to contact me directly.

Jason Edmiston - Acting Chief of Police Hermiston Police Department
