EOTEC - Special Meeting Minutes

Chairman Byron Smith opened the special meeting at 3:00 pm and immediately adjourned into an executive session at 3:01 pm for the purpose of discussing matters pertaining to the employment of an EOTEC General Manger in accordance with ORS 192.660(2) (a), which allows the Board to meet in Executive Session to consider the employment of a public officer, employee, staff member or individual agent.

Present were Board Members Ed Brookshier, Don Miller, Byron Smith, Dan Dorran (by phone), Larry Givens and Kim Puzey. Also present was Nate Rivera, Heather Cannell and Jade McDowell of the East Oregonian.

Representative of the news media and designated staff shall be allowed to attend the executive session. All other members of the audience are excluded. Representatives of the news media are specifically directed not to report on any of the deliberations during the executive session, except to state the general subject of the session as previously announced. No final decision may be made in executive session. At the end of the executive session, the board will return to open session which the audience may attend.

Chairman Byron Smith reconvened the special meeting at 4:19 pm.

Ed Brookshier motioned and Larry Givens seconded a motion to direct Chairman Byron Smith to work out an agreement with Nate Rivera to serve as Interim EOTEC General Manager for up to six months. Motion carried unanimously.

Regular session adjourned at 4:22pm.
