Library Board - Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 4:06.  Present were board members Kay Bennett, Nancy Brown, Anne Doherty, and Library director Mark Rose.  Board chair Lori Spencer arrived at 4:13.

The minutes of the February 22, 2017 meetings were approved.

Unfinished Business: 

A board photo will be taken at the next meeting at which all are present.

The new copier/printer equipment needs to be assembled and made operable.

New Business: 

The Board adopted the Borrowing Policy as presented: Anne made the motion, Nancy seconded, the voting was unanimous.  The discussion included proof of residency explanation, the elimination of obsolete issues or issues addressed in other policy. 

The budget that has been submitted for consideration by the City Administrator includes and increase in the materials budget to better meet the demands and interest of our community.

Mark informed the Board that the interior doors of the Library would be re-keyed the following day.

Librarian's Report: 

In consultation with the City Administrator the Library has contracted to have the building cleaned, next years budget will reflect that change.

The UCSLD held its semiannual in-service/training in Echo on April 7.  A presentation on the effects of different challenging life events and how to work together effectively

The meeting was adjourned at 4:59.
