EOTEC Budget Meeting - Minutes

At 7:50 am EOTEC Board Chairman Byron Smith opened the meeting of the Eastern Oregon Trade & Event Center Budget Committee to consider the proposed budget for the 2017-2018 fiscal year. Present were Budget Committee members: George Anderson, Ginny Holthus, Tom Spoo, Dan Dorran, Larry Givens, Don Miller, Kim Puzey and Ed Brookshire (via phone).  Nate Rivera, Robert Pahl and Vijay Patel were excused.

EOTEC staff present: Heather Cannell.  City staff present: Holly Lambert and Barb McMahon. News media present: Jade McDowell of the East Oregonian. One member of the public was in attendance.

Chairman Smith stated the committee must elect a chairman and secretary to oversee the process.  George Anderson was nominated and unanimously elected chairman. Ginny Holthus was nominated and unanimously elected secretary.

Chairman Anderson asked Budget Officer Chairman Smith to present the EOTEC budget Message.

EOTEC Board Chairman Smith stated the proposed Eastern Oregon Trade & Event Center (EOTEC) Budget for the 2017-18 Fiscal Year is $2,233,590.  He presented the budget numbers, noting that Promotions was increased to $80,000 to fully market the completed facility.

Kim Puzey discussed the use of social media in marketing.

Upon review and completion of the budget presentation by Chair Smith, and with no questions or public comment regarding the budget, Kim Puzey moved and Tom Spoo seconded to approve the budget as presented. Motion carried unanimously.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 am.
