Wed., Jun. 14, 2017

Members Present: Mike Martin, Ron Osgood, Ron Linn, Tim Beinert, and Dan Burns.

City Representative: Mark Morgan.

Visitors: Andrew Kilgore

Members absent:

Minutes: None available.

Airport Caretaker Report:  Susie Rawe provided the Monthly Managers Report. This report was reviewed by the committee. Susie reported that currently we utilize Epic Fuel Distributers on as needed basis for fuel purchases. Though other distributors are available, Epic has been reliable, insured, high quality standards, and prices in line with the industry. The committee choses to remain with Epic as our fuel distributer. Oregon Department of Transportation has inspected the runway asphalt to insure the integrity. The aircraft tiedown points now have ropes instead of chains.

Financial report: Reviewed. On schedule with our budgeted calendar year. The fuel sales are less than budgeted due to inoperative fuel dispensers and a long winter with decreased flying.

Old Business:

  • Critical Oregon Airport Relief grant (COAR): The grant process to enable the Airport Master Plan project is still in process.

New Business:

  • Airport master plan: The project is on schedule and Century West Engineering will be starting this process soon. A 500ft runway extension is being explored during this project.
  • K2 Aerial Rinsate update: Andrew Kilgore has brought to the airport committees attention that a 30ft concrete extension on the east side of the current facility would enable a smoother flow of agricultural aircraft activity. Mr. Kilgore will obtain more information as to cost and design for this proposed project. A future design could include asphalt access from the taxiway to the current rinsate facility. The committee discussed the possibility of a private party developing the rinsate expansion with a potential reduced land lease and exclusive use of the pad.

Meeting adjourned: 4:45pm

Next meeting: July 5th, 2017 at 4:00pm
