National Night Out

On Tuesday, August 6, 2013, neighborhoods throughout Hermiston are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the “30th  Anniversary of the Annual National Night Out”
crime/drug prevention event. From 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., residents throughout the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on your outside lights, and spend the evening outside with your neighbors, police and firefighters. 

National Night Out is designed to:

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
  • Generate support for and participation in local anti-crime
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community
    partnerships; and
  • Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods
    are organized and fighting back.
