Hermiston Police News - Suspect arrested on multiple charges

On the 7th of December 2011, at approximately 6:30 AM, officers responded to Tower Apartments on a report of a 4 wheeler that had just been stolen out of the back of a pickup.  Officers were able to track the ATV based on the noise of the engine, from Tower Apartments at 1150 S. Hwy 395 to the east where they eventually caught up with the suspect in the area of Canal Road (approximately 2 miles away).

Hermiston Police News - Early release leds to second arrest

On the 7th of October 2011, at approximately 7PM, the Hermiston Police Department arrested Kristina L. Moore 23 years of age, of 1216 NE 4th Street, Hermiston on (2) Failure to Appear warrants (totaling $70,000) out of Umatilla County.  Moore was processed at the Hermiston Police Department and later lodged at the jail in Pendleton. Moore was later released from custody.

Hermiston Police News - Juvenile taked into custody for burglary

On the 30th of September 2011, at approximately 6PM, a 14 year old Hermiston male was taken into custody for his alleged involvement with a burglary that took place at a residence in Country Squire Estates (1500 NE 10th Street, Hermiston).

The male was ultimately charged with Burglary in the First Degree, Theft in the First Degree, (13) counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (based on firearms stolen), and Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree.

Hermiston Police Department News - Suspect taken in to custody and charged in sex abuse case.

On the 29th of September 2011, at approximately 9PM, John A. Bindley 49 years of age of 339 E Highland Avenue, Hermiston, was taken into custody for his alleged involvement in a sex abuse investigation conducted by members of the Hermiston Police Department.

Hermiston Police News - suspects arrested

On the 23rd of September 2011, at approximately 11:13 PM, Hermiston officers were dispatched to a suspicious call at the Dun Rollin Trailer Park located at 445 E Jennie Ave.  Information received was of a possible disturbance involving several males in a black pickup.

Responding officers conducted a traffic stop on a 2007 Lincoln pickup with Oregon plates 021EXF in the area.  A passenger in the bed of the pickup fled on foot as the traffic stop was initiated.

Hermiston Police Depart. News - Employees report suspicious vehicle - results in apprehending subjects and charging with Felony Theft.

On the 12th of September 2011, at approximately 6:29 AM, officers from the Hermiston Police Department responded to Circle C Equipment located at 333 E Feedville Road, Hermiston on a report of a suspicious vehicle (a 1987 Dodge pickup) on the property.

Hermiston Police News - Suspicious device destroyed

On the 11th of September 2011, at approximately 10:50 AM, officers of the Hermiston Police Department responded to the vacant lot on the southeast corner of W Orchard Ave and S. 1st Street on a report of a suspicious device found on the ground.

Officers secured the scene and requested the assistance of the Oregon State Police Bomb Squad.  OSP responded within minutes and was able to safely destroy the device made from PVC piping.  Evidence collected will be sent to the crime lab for analysis.

Hermiston Police News - Escorting soldiers that are returning from a year long deployment to Iraq. (Sept. 7th - 10AM)

On the 7th of September 2011, at approximately 10:00 AM, the Hermiston Police Department will be escorting the 137 member 3rd Batallion, 116th Cavalry Regiment, Delta Company through Hermiston en route to National Guard Armory at 900 SE Columbia Drive.  The soldiers are returning from a year long deployment to Iraq.

Hermiston Fire and Emergency Services will provide a ladder truck with the United States flag proudly displayed at the entrance of the armory.

Hermiston Police News - Repeat offender arrested

On the 29th of August 2011, at approximately 7:05 AM, Clinton Eugene Springer 29 years of age, a transient of Hermiston, created a disturbance at the Eastside Market located at 582 E Main Street.  Springer fled from the store without paying for $19.11 worth of items and then stole a pickup from the parking lot.
