Hermiston Police News Release - interview of inmate conducted at Umatilla County Jail in Pendleton.

With the assistance of deputies from the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office, Detective Bill Osborne of the Hermiston Police Department interviewed Onorio Jaime Ibarra 21 years of age of 1942 NE 18th Street, Hermiston, at the Umatilla County Jail in Pendleton on the 10th of May 2011.

Ibarra had been lodged at the jail on among other things, several probation violation warrants.  Ibarra was charged by the Hermiston Police Department with the following:

On the 28th of April 2011, at approximately 4:30 AM, Dylan Lieght Russell 18 years of age of 1308 SW Sage Drive, Hermiston, was taken into custody for suspicion of having just broken into several vehicles in the area of 680 W Harper Road.

On the 13th of April 2011, at approximately 2:20 AM, late shift officers of the Hermiston Police Department responded to the 500 block of NW Samantha Avenue on a report of an outdoor shed that had been entered.  Further investigation revealed several other residences in the area with similar sheds and/or garages that had been entered and items taken.

Hermiston Police News Release - Suspect arrested and charged.

On the 25th of March 2011, at approximately 11:20 AM, Officer Shane Robinson of the Hermiston Police Department initiated a fraud investigation after a 32 year old female reported a check had been stolen from her residence at 1265 W. Madrona Avenue and forged.  The investigation showed the check had been cashed by Timothy Alan Jones, an acquaintance of the female victim.

Over the course of the next several days, Officer Robinson made attempts to locate Jones for questioning.

Hermiston Police News Release - Duo arrested after traffic stop

On the 18th of March 2011, at approximately 4:05 AM, Officer Bill Golter of the Hermiston Police Department attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a silver in color, 2004 Oldsmobile with Oregon registration plates 194BSQ, after the vehicle drove through a stop sign at a high rate of speed narrowly missing Golter and his patrol vehicle.

On the 10th of March, 2011, at 01:53 A.M. Hermiston Police Officers responded to the 100 block of W June for a report of a fight in progress.  

Hermiston Police News Release - Routine traffic stop leads to arrest

On the 23rd of February 2011, at approximately 10:52 PM, Officer Tim Miears of the Hermiston Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a white Mazda sedan with Oregon registration plates ZYK561 in the area of E Highland Avenue and SE 6th Street.  Officer Miears recognized the driver as Richard Lee Griffin 26 years of age of 275 NW 13th Street #A, Hermiston, and knew him to have a revoked driver’s license.

Hermiston Police News Release - Juveniles charged

On the 11th of February 2011, at approximately 8:28 PM, the Hermiston Police Department took a 14 year old female from Umatilla into custody during the course of an investigation of graffiti located inside a dugout at Newport Park.  The female was questioned and eventually charged with Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, Unlawfully Applying Graffiti, and Unlawfully Possessing Graffiti Implement.  The juvenile was eventually released to the custody of her father, Margarito P. Lopez of 1001 Carolina Road, Umatilla.

Hermiston Police News Release - Property recovered, suspects taken into custody

On the 4th of February 2011, at approximately 5:15 PM, the Hermiston Police Department was dispatched to a theft call at Maurices located at 894 South Highway 395.  An investigation was initiated and Officer Rod Vega began working on identifying what was reported to be two females responsible for the loss of merchandise.

Hermiston Police News Release - Juveniles charged

On the 24th of January 2011, at approximately 1:05 AM, the Hermiston Police Department was contacted by the management of the Sunshine Court Apartments located at 690 SW 9th Street on a report of several males getting into vehicles in the parking lot. 

Officers Bill Golter and Bryan Maess arrived within minutes and immediately took a 15 year old male into custody.  The other parties involved fled on foot and with the assistance of the Oregon State Police, (2) additional subjects (a 14 year old male and a 16 year old male) were detained.
