Hermiston Police News: Drug Task Force Invaluable Resource

Members of the Blue Mountain Narcotics Enforcement Team (BENT) executed a search warrant today
around noon at 1030 W. Madrona Ave in Hermiston. The search warrant came as a result of complaints
received about suspicious activity at the residence.

Hermiston Police News: Chronic Offender Sentenced to 150 Days in Jail

Over the weekend, Hermiston Police officers took a report of a residence being burglarized and a vehicle stolen from the 700 block of W. Highland Ave. Officers later located the vehicle at 940 NW Stockton Ave, the residence of the suspect, Marcus D. Wise, 26 years of age.

Wise was later located on Sunday at approximately 5:45PM near Funland Park. Wise was taken into custody, processed at the Hermiston Police Department, and lodged at the Umatilla County Jail on charges of Burglary in the First Degree, Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle, and Theft in the Second Degree.

Hermiston Police News: Traffic Stop Leads to Seizure

On the 21st of September 2014, at approximately 3:45 PM, an alert Hermiston Police Department patrol officer spotted a vehicle believed to have been involved in a possible theft at Walmart from earlier in the day. As the officer positioned himself to follow the yellow 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer with Oregon registration 674GZR, the driver increased his speed and began making abrupt and careless lane changes along Highway 395.

Hermiston Police News: Successful Warrant Sweep

Members of the Hermiston Police Department, Boardman Police Department, Blue Mountain Enforcement Narcotics Team (BENT), Morrow County Sheriff’s Office, and Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office worked in unison tonight during a warrant roundup.

In all, 9 people were arrested for various warrants and 2 were arrested for new charges. Lodged at the Umatilla County Jail in Pendleton were:

Pendleton duo arrested after suspicious activity call

On the 21st of June 2014, at approximately 6:20 PM, the Hermiston Police Department received a call about two males acting suspicious in the 800 block of South Highway 395.  An officer responded and contacted Christian D. Leach, 30 years of age and J. Maston Wornell, 34 years of age, both of Pendleton. 

Hermiston Police News: Hermiston PD Assists the ATF with Arrest

Members of the Hermiston Police Department assisted the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms with the arrest of Lerry D. Cogswell, 26 years of age, of Nampa, Idaho. HPD received information yesterday afternoon from the ATF that Cogswell had attempted to pawn a smoke grenade at a local business. The ATF was able to provide us information Cogswell may be operating a gold colored sedan with an Idaho plate in the front window.

Hermiston Police News: Man Who Crashed Vehicle into Business Arrested

Over the last several days, detectives from the Hermiston Police Department have actively sought Loreto R. Ramos for questioning related to his suspected involvement in the single vehicle crash into the side of the Eastern Oregon Mobile Slaughter business located on West Hermiston Ave. Detectives even attempted to contact Ramos at one of his places of employment in Prescott, Washington.

Hermiston Police News: HPD Officers Nab Man After 5 Years on the Run

On the 13th of June 2014, at approximately 5:30 PM, diligent Hermiston Police officers to include the 2 officer street crime unit arrested Rojerro A. Espino. Espino who is now 26 years of age, has been on the lam since the summer of 2009.

Earlier this month the department received information Espino may be back in Hermiston visiting. After a possible sighting this morning swing shift officers observed Espino enter a residence at 320 E Beebe Ave #A. Officers made contact with people at the residence and Espino was taken into custody without incident.

Hermiston Police News - Productive Street Crime Unit

The Friday night (April 18th) shift for the Hermiston Police Department Street Crime Unit proved to be very productive with multiple arrests having been made.  The street crime unit consisting of Officer Will Jons and Chris McMahon were very busy with numerous foot chases where all suspects were caught and lodged in the Umatilla County Jail in Pendleton.
