Hermiston Police News: Successful Warrant Sweep

Members of the Hermiston Police Department, Boardman Police Department, Blue Mountain Enforcement Narcotics Team (BENT), Morrow County Sheriff’s Office, and Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office worked in unison tonight during a warrant roundup.

In all, 9 people were arrested for various warrants and 2 were arrested for new charges. Lodged at the Umatilla County Jail in Pendleton were:

Pendleton duo arrested after suspicious activity call

On the 21st of June 2014, at approximately 6:20 PM, the Hermiston Police Department received a call about two males acting suspicious in the 800 block of South Highway 395.  An officer responded and contacted Christian D. Leach, 30 years of age and J. Maston Wornell, 34 years of age, both of Pendleton. 

Hermiston Police News: Hermiston PD Assists the ATF with Arrest

Members of the Hermiston Police Department assisted the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms with the arrest of Lerry D. Cogswell, 26 years of age, of Nampa, Idaho. HPD received information yesterday afternoon from the ATF that Cogswell had attempted to pawn a smoke grenade at a local business. The ATF was able to provide us information Cogswell may be operating a gold colored sedan with an Idaho plate in the front window.

Hermiston Police News: Man Who Crashed Vehicle into Business Arrested

Over the last several days, detectives from the Hermiston Police Department have actively sought Loreto R. Ramos for questioning related to his suspected involvement in the single vehicle crash into the side of the Eastern Oregon Mobile Slaughter business located on West Hermiston Ave. Detectives even attempted to contact Ramos at one of his places of employment in Prescott, Washington.

Hermiston Police News: HPD Officers Nab Man After 5 Years on the Run

On the 13th of June 2014, at approximately 5:30 PM, diligent Hermiston Police officers to include the 2 officer street crime unit arrested Rojerro A. Espino. Espino who is now 26 years of age, has been on the lam since the summer of 2009.

Earlier this month the department received information Espino may be back in Hermiston visiting. After a possible sighting this morning swing shift officers observed Espino enter a residence at 320 E Beebe Ave #A. Officers made contact with people at the residence and Espino was taken into custody without incident.

Hermiston Police News - Productive Street Crime Unit

The Friday night (April 18th) shift for the Hermiston Police Department Street Crime Unit proved to be very productive with multiple arrests having been made.  The street crime unit consisting of Officer Will Jons and Chris McMahon were very busy with numerous foot chases where all suspects were caught and lodged in the Umatilla County Jail in Pendleton.

On the 5th of April 2014 at approximately 2:30 AM, officers of the Hermiston Police Department were dispatched to the area of Elm Avenue and North Highway 395 on a report of a male brandishing a weapon at another male.  Officers arrived within minutes and located Kevin Besler, 20 years of age, of 405 SW 11th Street #50, Hermiston, in the area of North Highway 395 and W. Cherry Ave.

Hermiston Police News: Juvenile charged with numerous incidents of graffiti

Numerous officers of the Hermiston Police Department worked in conjunction with identifying a 14 year old male as the person responsible for two recent rashes of vandalism via graffiti.  Officer Mike Ellwood and Training Officer Doug Gill were once again the lead officers in compiling information and identifying the responsible male.

The mother of the male, Maria J. Torres, 41 years of age, of 1210 W. Ridgeway Ave, Hermiston, was charged with (2) counts of Failure to Supervise a Child.

Hermiston Police News: Diligent police work leads to Arlington teen detainment

Officers of the Hermiston Police Department worked relentlessly in identifying a 17 year old Arlington, Oregon male as the person responsible for a recent rash of vandalism via graffiti.  Officer Mike Ellwood and Training Officer Doug Gill responded to the 200 block of W. Hermiston Avenue on March 24th around 11AM and noted similar markings in at least three locations.  During a canvass of the neighborhood, the officers contacted a group of individuals at 220 NW 3rd Street.

Hermiston Police News: Intoxicated Teen Lodged at Juvenile Department

On the 27th of February 2014 at approximately 1:15AM, officers of the Hermiston Police Department were dispatched to the area of E. Beech Avenue and NE McNary Avenue on a report of a shot having been fired.  Officers canvassed the area and found a parked Ford F150 pickup that had been damaged.
