Hermiston Police News: Alcohol furnished to minors

On October 15th 2012, the Hermiston Police Department was advised of a possible underage alcohol consumption party having taken place in Hermiston on the night of October 5th.  The party was reported to have included several students involved in sports from the Umatilla High School.

Hermiston Police News: Persistence pays off in arrest and recovery of stolen goods.

On the 30th of September 2012, at approximately 5:15 PM, Officer Josh Roberts of the Hermiston Police Department responded to and investigated a report of an unlocked van as having been entered unlawfully while parked in the Wal-Mart parking lot.  The owner of the van reported he was missing a bag containing camera equipment valued at approximately $1000, a set of binoculars, and 9mm pistol.

Hermiston Police News: Alleged burglar/car thief arrested

Members of the Hermiston Police Department located a stolen vehicle at 2195 N. 1st Street on September 15th, some 3 hours after it was reported as missing from a garage in the 600 block of NE Willow Court.  During the course of that investigation it was discovered the residence where the vehicle was stolen from was also entered and a gaming system was taken.

With the assistance of Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office deputies, officers of the Hermiston Police Department dealt with a very well-known group of individuals during a traffic stop this past Sunday morning at 12:50 AM. 

A 1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass driven by Tirso Garcia Lopez, 19 years of age, of 80780 Kik Road, Hermiston, was stopped in the Safeway parking lot.  During the course of the stop, a loaded .22 handgun and a knife were located and seized as evidence.

Hermiston Police News: Hermiston PD busy with impaired drivers

Officers of the Hermiston Police Department were busy this weekend dealing with impaired drivers.  With both officers working normal patrol and some officers dedicated in an overtime capacity with funding from the Oregon Association of Chiefs of Police, (8) DUII arrests in the span of approximately 36 hours were made.


Hermiston Police News: Prescription Drug Drop-Box Received via Grant

On the 15th of August 2012, the Hermiston Police Department in conjunction with the office of the city manager and the wastewater department received a grant for a prescription drug box from the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators (NADDI).

Hermiston Police News: Suspect Arrested with Multiple Charges

On the 4th of July 2012, at approximately 10:50 PM, Ivan Santoyo, 28 years of age, was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct due to his actions displayed over the course of two calls for service to his residence at 645 SE 4th Street #2C in Hermiston.

The initial call came in for loud music. When officers arrived, Mr. Santoyo turned the music down but was extremely belligerent and confrontational. The officers cleared with a warning as Mr. Santoyo was going into his apartment for the remainder of the evening.

On the 29th of June 2012, at approximately 11 AM, the Hermiston Police Department received information on the whereabouts of Richard Correa.  Officers of this agency responded to the Economy Inn located at 835 North 1st Street in Hermiston and visually observed Richard Correa as a passenger in an SUV driven by his father Cruz Correa.

Hermiston Police News: Officer in Pursuit of Suspect

On the 27th of June 2012, at approximately 11:45 PM, Officer Scott Clark of the Hermiston Police Department was parked stationary in the 800 block of W Elm Ave when he observed a pickup truck traveling eastbound on Elm Street with what appeared to be portions of the truck painted with spray paint.  Officer Clark believed the truck looked familiar and pulled out onto Elm Ave to get a closer look.

Hermiston Police News: Juvenile apprehended, police are seeking additional suspect

On the 24th of June 2012, at approximately 3:07 PM, the Hermiston Police Department received a call from a citizen advising their 2007 Chrysler Town and Country minivan was just stolen from the Theater Sports Park (1800 NW 6th Street) in Hermiston.  The caller advised two males took the van and several people (friends of the victim) were pursuing the subjects.
