About Captain Eynon

Captain Eynon began his career in 1983 in the United States Air Force where he was with the USAF Security Police (Now Security Forces). After his enlistment in 1989 he was hired by the Umatilla Police Department. He later moved to Billings Montana and worked for the Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office for a short time before returning to Umatilla to lead the department as Chief of Police. After a little more than 10 years, he left Umatilla Police Department for the Hermiston Police Department. Since working at the Hermiston Police Department, Captain Eynon has been assigned in patrol, investigations, then back to patrol as a patrol Sergeant where he was promoted to Lieutenant and finally to Administrative Services Captain.

Captain Eynon serves on the Umatilla School District Board of Directors. He has also been involved in coaching youth sports for many years. Captain Eynon participates on many Law Enforcement and multi-disciplinary committees throughout Umatilla County.

Over his 25+ year career, captain Eynon has received a large amount of training applicable to his career. He has also received some significant leadership training such as the University of Arkansas Rural Executive Management Institute (2001) and the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration School of Police Supervision in Plano Texas (2012).
