Hermiston Police News: Business Trespass Enforcement Program Works

Release Date:

On the 28th of December 2013 at approximately 8:17 PM, Hermiston Police Department Street Crime Team member Officer Will Jons stopped Malissa J. Bush for trespassing on the property of G & S Tire Factory (535 N. 1st Street) after business hours.

Bush, who provided her current address as 510 E. Catherine Avenue, Hermiston, was the subject of (3) warrants for her arrest.  Bush was processed at the Hermiston Police Department.  Bush was also found to be in possession of approximately 3 ½ pounds of marijuana, a stun gun, and drug paraphernalia.

Before being lodged at the Umatilla County Jail in Pendleton, Bush was charged with:

Unlawful Delivery of Marijuana within 1000 ft of School, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon, and the (3) arrest warrants.

“In 2013, we only had 30 businesses register for the trespass enforcement program.  This is the perfect example of how that program can work for the police department.  Our department will be taking a more proactive approach to enlisting new businesses for this program in 2014.  Though we have not been able to fully implement our street crime unit due to staffing issues, it is my intent to have that team operational by March 1st, 2014,” reports Chief Jason Edmiston.
