Hermiston Seeks Community Livability Asset Oversight Committee Applicants

Release Date:

The City of Hermiston is seeking applicants to join it’s temporary “Community Livability Asset Oversight Committee.”  Applications are available at Hermiston City Hall, and HERE, and are due no later than 5 p.m. October 2, 2015.

The Community Livability Asset Oversight Committee is a partnership between the City of Hermiston, Greater Hermiston Area Chamber of Commerce, Hermiston Futures Task Force, and consultants Barney & Worth, Inc..  The group will only meet for approximately 4-6 months, and is intended to guide a public engagement process which will result in a long-term community-based Action Plan which will set priorities for viable community livability assets to be pursued by the community over the next 10-20 years.

Livability Assets are those things which make a community an enjoyable place for people to live.  Examples include everything from parks, libraries, museums, and swimming pools to additional retail, healthcare, and housing options.  Barney & Worth, Inc. will work with the oversight committee to develop a comprehensive community engagement plan to gauge what Livability Assets Hermiston residents are supportive of pursuing.  Additionally, Barney & Worth will work with the group to base the final strategy in the realm of economic reality.
