Notice of Public Hearing Planning Commission January 10, 2023- Conversion-Comprehensive Plan Map Amendment and Annexation 4N2813 Tax Lots 200 & 500 - 1295 SE 10th St

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Hermiston Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on the 10th day of January, 2024, at or after 7:00 p.m. in the council chambers of City Hall, 180 N.E. 2nd Street, Hermiston, Oregon on the proposed conversion to amend the City’s comprehensive plan map from Future Industrial to Medium Density Residential for 48.3 acres and Commercial/Industrial for 31.57 acres along with a corresponding change in the County zoning designation from F-2 with Future Industrial Overlay to the city zoning designations of Multi-Family Residential (R-3) for 48.3 acres of land and Outlying Commercial/Light Industrial (C-2/M-1) for 31.57 acres.  The public hearing will also consider the proposed annexation to the City of Hermiston and withdrawal from the Umatilla County Library District the following described property:

A Tract of land located in Section 12 and 13, Township 4 North, Range 28 East of the Willamette Meridian, Umatilla County, Oregon, more particularly described as follows:

  All that part of Section 13, Township 4 North, Range 28 East of the Willamette Meridian lying between the South line of the U.S.R.S. Feed Canal and the North Line of the A Canal of the Hermiston Irrigation District, containing 102.58 acres, more or less.

Including the East Highland Avenue Right-of-Way from the North Line of the A Canal of the Hermiston Irrigation District Easterly to the South Line of the U.S.R.S. Feed Canal, containing 3.3 acres, more or less.

All being in Sections 12 and 13, Township 4 North, Range 28 East of the Willamette Meridian, Umatilla County, Oregon.

The applicant is Hermiston Home Works, Inc. The property is located east of SE 10th St and south of E Highland Ave. The property is described as 4N2813 Tax Lots 200 & 500 and addressed as 1295 SE 10th St.  The location of the property is within the City’s Urban Growth Boundary and the proposed changes will allow the extension of city utilities and services to the property.
