Building Inspector

The City of Hermiston is currently accepting applications for the position of Building Inspector. Annual salary $67,896 - $91,476 negotiable depending on experience/qualifications. The Building Inspector administers the city's building code program under the direction of the Building Official. Inspects building construction in progress for compliance with building codes and ordinances; interprets and enforces building codes and ordinances; performs plan reviews. Responsible for performing building construction inspection, codes enforcement, plans review, and building permit issuance for the city.

This position requires a high school education; a valid Oregon driver’s license and proof of an acceptable driving record; Oregon Inspector Certification and the ability to obtain Residential/1&2 Family Dwelling Structural, Mechanical, and Plumbing Specialty Code licensure within six-months of hire, Oregon Electrical Specialty Code Inspector License is a plus.
