COMPLIANCE PROGRAM

The Hermiston Municipal Court, in partnership with the Hermiston Police Department, has a Vehicle Compliance Program that gives motorists a second chance to comply with the law.  The Compliance Program encourages compliance rather than punishing drivers.  The program allows citations for defective vehicle equipment  or other fixable offenses to be dismissed upon proof of correction.

An administrative fee of $50 must be paid prior to dismissal.

Below are some applicable violations:

  • Vehicle/Equipment Violations
    • Cracked Windshield
    • Defective Vehicle Equipment: Brakes, Lights, Turn Signals.
    • Illegal Alteration or Display of Plates
    • Operation Without Proper Exhaust System
    • Failure to Display License Plates
    • Studded Tires
    • Tinted Window
    • No Fenders
    • Vehicle Registration

  • Driver Violations
    • Driving Without License
    • Driving While Suspended or Revoked
    • Driving Uninsured
    • Failure to Carry Proof of Insurance

If you are interested in participating in the Compliance Program follow the steps below:

1.  Complete the COMPLIANCE PROGRAM REQUEST FORM to see if the offense you were charged with is eligible (Hermiston Municipal Court must receive your proof of compliance PRIOR to your appearance date. Requests received after the appearance date will not be eligible).

2.  Correct the offense.  If it is a vehicle equipment offense, the Hermiston Police Department will need to inspect the vehicle and sign off on it.  If it is a driver offense, court staff will provide instructions on how to provide proof of correction.

3. Submit proof of correction and payment of administrative fee to the Hermiston Municipal Court.
