Hermiston Police News: Conterfeiters Arrested

On the 23rd of May 2013, members of the Hermiston Police Department executed a search warrant at 1150 South Highway 395 #D49, Hermiston, as a result of a forgery investigation initiated earlier in the month (May 8th).

Briannna Marie Rocha 19 years of age of 1150 South Highway 395 #D49, Hermiston and Alexandrea Maria Rogers 22 years of age of 363 East Highland Avenue, Hermiston were both arrested and charged for their involvement in/with the production and passing of counterfeit payroll checks in the Hermiston area.

The swing and late shift for the Hermiston Police Department were extremely busy during the night of May 1st and early morning hours of May 2nd making multiple arrests and clearing several criminal cases.

Hermiston Police News: Boardman Man Wanted by HPD (Update: Suspect in Custody)

On the 3rd of May 2013, with the assistance fo the Boardman Police Department, Tellez was taken into custody.  He was charged with Menacing, Criminal Trespass II, and Disorderly Conduct II before being lodged at the Umatilla County Jail.  [View Notice from HPD - PDF]

Hermiston Police News: Fleeing subject tosses shotgun

On the 27th of April 2013, at approximately 11:20 AM, Hermiston Police Department motor officer Victor Gutierrez observed two males crossing (walking) Highway 395 with little disregard for traffic as designated crosswalks were not utilized in two separate locations.  Officer Gutierrez contacted the duo and advised them of the enforceable violation.

Hermiston Police Department - Search Warrant leads to discovery of drugs, arrests made.

On the 15th of April 2013, at approximately 5:30 PM, officers of the Hermiston Police Department attempted to locate Tarra K. Johnson, 24 years of age of Hermiston, at the Sunset Motel located at 425 North 1st Street.  Johnson had a warrant for her arrest.  Johnson was located in room #36 and during the initial contact officers could smell a very strong odor of marijuana coming from the room which also had (4) small children and (2) male adults inside.

Traffic Stop Leads to Stolen Handgun

On the 25th of February 2013, at approximately 3:30 PM, Officer Tim Miears of the Hermiston Police Department, observed Benjamin E. Marquez, 19 years of age of 1650 W Sunland Ave #D7, Hermiston, operating a white Mercury sedan bearing Oregon license plate 293CUS.  Ofc. Miears knew from previous contacts Marquez’s driving status was misdemeanor suspended and he had a valid warrant for his arrest out of the Hermiston Municipal Court. 

Hermiston Police News: Assault Investigation Leads to Arrest

On the 21st of February 2013, at approximately 1:30 PM, Hermiston Police officers were dispatched to 645 SE 4th Street #3A in Hermiston, on a report of an assault that had just occurred.  Upon arrival, officers contacted a 22 year old Hermiston male who had injuries requiring the response of Hermiston Fire and Emergency Services.

Within a couple hours of being dropped off in Hermiston by the Kadlec Hospital transport van, the Hermiston Police Department arrested Peter Villarreal for Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree.

Hermiston Police News: Update from Daniel Primus

The Umatilla/Morrow Major Crime Team investigation of the officer involved shooting on December 31, 2012 concluded last Friday, January 3, 2013. The investigation included witness interviews and review of surveillance video from the Community Bank and Hermiston Liquor Store. Detectives learned the suspect entered the bank and proceeded to force his way behind the banking counter and forcibly remove cash from a till. The suspect then exited the bank, and went directly to the liquor store.

Hermiston Police News: Release from District Attorney regarding shooting incident

At 3:24 p.m. on December 31, 2012, an alarm was initiated at Community Bank in Hermiston. Several officers were dispatched from the Hermiston Police Department to the bank and, en route, learned that the alarm was for a robbery and was not a false alarm. Eye witnesses reported seeing the bank robbery suspect leave the bank, cross Highway 395, walk through the Fiesta Foods parking lot, and enter the Hermiston Liquor Store. Soon after the suspect entered the liquor store, two Hermiston Police Department officers entered the liquor store and attempted to contact the suspect.
