Doug has been married for over 19 years to his wife Karen, and has 5 children and 4 grandchildren. Doug enjoys cooking, BBQ, diving, and hunting. Doug graduated from Hermiston High School in 1981 and attended BMCC and Chemeketa Community College. For over 27 years, Doug has been a full time Correctional Sergeant with Oregon Department of Corrections in Umatilla at Two Rivers. Doug has been a Umatilla County Reserve with Sheriff's Office for over 31 years, and Rescue Diver with Umatilla County Sheriff's Office for over 33 years, and is also an instructor in: Firearms, First Aid/CPR/AED, ICS and Emergency Preparedness, and others.

Community Service, both Past and Present

Doug is currently a Umatilla County Sheriffs Reserve and serves as an At-Large Citizen member of Region 1 of the Oregon State Bar House of Delegates, and is a past member of the Fraternal Order of Police and Columbia Basin Dive Rescue.

Council Appointment

Doug was elected in 2012 and became involved to create and promote change as there were things happening in city council that needed to be addressed for the betterment of the City of Hermiston.
